Hyde Park is a very diverse neighborhood in Cincinnati, Ohio. It was originally called Hillsdale, it is a historic neighborhood with a growing population of 4286 residents and counting.

Located on the east side of Cincinnati bordering Walnut Hills to the west and Evanston to the east, Hyde Park is bordered by Mount Lookout on the north and Columbia-Tusculum to its south. The neighborhood is 1 mile/1.6 kilometers from the downtown Cincinnati area.

Residents in this neighborhood have access to the following: Mt. Healthy City School Districts (K-8), Cincinnati Public Schools (9-12), and Holy Family University (college). Residents can also find the following nearby: Glendale Cemetery, Echo Nursery School, B&O Railroad Museum, Union Terminal.

Historically, Hyde Park was home to many industrial innovations including a large meat packing plant, which still stands today as a popular restaurant called Brown Iron Brews & BBQ, and one of the first gas stations and laundromats in Cincinnati.

However, like many other neighborhoods in Cincinnati, there has been an increasing population of newer residents who are middle class, young professionals and international students. Hyde Park has been undergoing a dramatic revitalization in the past five years after many decades of neglect by city services.

Residents also have access to over 140 acres of parks, which include: Mt. Healthy Playground, and Spring Grove park. The neighborhood hosts several parades each year as well as festivals including Sitar Arts Festival in July and St Paddy’s Day Festival in March, but most notably is the very popular “Hyde Park Jazz Fest” held every August by Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber. This festival attracts thousands of people who come out to enjoy wine tastings from local vineyards, gourmet food provided by many local restaurants, jazz music performances, and a variety of arts & crafts vendors.
